citizenme is creating a service to give us all control and ownership of our digital identities. We are looking for developers who possesses a passion for pushing mobile, web and big data technologies to the limit and will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build next generation mobile applications and services. We are a small focused team creating an amazing user experience across multiple platforms: iOS, Android, Firefox and Chrome, with Android Glass to follow.

Roles initially start on a contract basis with the potential to become a pioneer team member with equity for the right candidates.

Lead Android Engineer

The citizenme team is looking for a colleague who can lead the Android app development effort. We are looking for a person who is hands-on, happy to work with us in a lean & Agile start-up sense, who is happy to experiment often, is metrics-driven and takes a holistic view of the offering.

We are offering our colleagues a very varied and cutting edge environment with an opportunity to truly grow and be a voice amongst equals from day one. There is also an opportunity for part ownership at an early stage of the company. While we have an office in London we are happy to work with remote workers within an already geographically dispersed team – inside +/- 4 hour timezone offset of London.

About you:

  • Professional development experience with a strong understanding of Java, OO, Android & SDK – and design patterns
  • Not afraid of tough, never-tried-before challenges and experimentation
  • Happy to partake in the full development lifecycle from identification of opportunity, through spec, development, QA and feedback
  • Good understanding of stack from UI to backend, including server-side integration through REST and JSON
  • Passion for writing good, highly cohesive and low-coupled code with an eagerness to refactor – often
  • Likes to work with Git/Github and Gitflow
  • Big believer of automated, continuous integration & testing
  • Open source believer, perhaps even with some code and an app we can look at
  • Happy to work in a remote team and actively engage in hangouts
