General Description

The Lead UI Developer creates cutting edge, engaging user experiences for Viddler and their clients, delivered on all major devices. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to interface engagement. The candidate will also have extensive experience in an agile, innovative development environment. A thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered interface methodologies is a must.

This position will collaborate with the product management and development teams, and report directly to Director of Software Development to develop new solutions to complex user-centered products.


  • Develop high quality front end user and web application interfaces from static Photoshop, Illustrator, and wireframe documents.
  • Collaborate with development and design staff to offer solutions to complex workflow and usability problems.
  • Fix bugs in the front-end when applicable.
  • Help document front-end workflows.
  • Recommend improvements to usability, reliability and scalability.
  • Assist in usability testing sessions, and report results to product and development teams
  • Communicate:
    • Technical issues
    • Design related issues
    • Overall usability issues
  • Create wireframes to support the professional services group


  • Expert working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and jQuery
  • Expert working knowledge of Twitter Bootstrap
  • Expert working knowledge of Node, Bower and Grunt
  • Strong conceptualization and visual communication abilities
  • Responsive interface development is a must have
  • Experience developing interfaces for mobile devices
  • Ability to create wireframes from functional requirements documentation
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of common software development & project management practices
  • Ability to use Git version control efficiently
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical specifications
