MongoHQ is a database as a service company, hosting databases for thousands of developers. We have serious revenue, a large A-round in the bank, and an amazing set of customers that love our product. Our rate of signups (both free and paid users) is growing quickly, and we want your combination of tech and people skills to help our customers be successful and get the most out of MongoHQ.
If you are a developer, and know how to help developers with technical questions, we want to talk to you. You will be most effective if you have excellent communication skills, an inquisitive nature, love to learn, can read and tweak source code written in a variety of languages, and understand how to approach and solve problems from a customer's perspective. You'll need a high degree of fluency in English and be able to cover North American off hours (ideally 10PM Pacific to 6AM Pacific), but we're open to hiring people to cover regular business hours too depending on your experience (our first priority though will be hiring off-hour support).
This is the perfect position for a smart hacker who wants to gain experience at a customer-focused infrastructure startup. Spending time with our customers and product will let you improve your tech chops vastly, and should be solid preparation for a high-end distributed systems engineering position (we need those too, so if you start on support and do a great job, there's a huge amount of room for growth).
We are currently a company of 24 people, with offices in San Mateo, CA, Birmingham, AL, and remote employees scattered around the United States, Canada and the UK.
