SUMMARY: Frontiers is a Christian, faith-based non-profit working with churches to send their workers overseas. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Front-End Developer who is passionate about clean semantic markup and building highly usable sites for web and mobile. As an in-house developer, you’ll be working directly with the client and our collaborative marketing team in a deadline-driven, team environment.


  • Develop and maintain HTML5/CSS3/jQuery responsive websites and email campaigns
  • Administer the SiteStackers web application (CMS/CRM/Donor/Pipeline)
  • Develop and maintain reports for web-based applications
  • Test across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices, including smartphones and tablets
  • Administer event management software
  • Work with Art Director to adhere to brand standards across projects
  • Support Sr. Content strategist in social media campaigns
  • Collaborate with marketing team to brainstorm effective solutions
  • Work with external contractors
  • Train internal staff on web-based applications
  • Attend two-week candidate school
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Produce well-tested and functional code (symantic)
  • Develop with tablets and mobile in mind
  • Possess high-level understanding of web and mobile UX/UI
  • Scope development efforts
  • Self-direct and self-manage
  • Enjoy researching new web tech
  • Knowledge about mobile apps and native apps, as well as when to use them


  • CSS systems such as LESS and SASS to compile style files
  • PHP (Cake PHP) include function to manage common elements
  • Subversion or other version control system
  • Analytics solutions such as Google Analytics
  • Developing for search engine optimization
  • Standards-compliant code
  • Wordpress


  • Experience with Agile project management
  • Ability to discuss best practices and solutions with non-tech oriented people
  • User research experience (personas, user stories, etc.)


Education: Bachelor’s degree is recommended and portfolio is required

Location: Tempe, AZ (no relocation package offered) Possibility to work remotely

References: Positive church reference is required
