About the role

We’re looking for an experienced L3 Support Engineer with over 3 years of experience to join our growing Support team. Your advanced application troubleshooting, system administration and networking experience will be put to the test managing some of the world’s largest brand-name customers’ application and database environments.

You’ll also work closely with a smart and dynamic team assisting in the design and management of complex, cutting-edge high performance cloud infrastructure. You will be exposed to a wide range of new and emerging technologies and work extensively with pure AWS environments and hybrid AWS/Bulletproof environments.

Desirable technical qualities

  • You are a competent and confident operations person with exposure to Linux (mainly Ubuntu & CentOS) and Windows Systems.

  • You are passionate about supporting customers and developer partners alike. (we have partnerships with Sitecore, AEM, Magento development shops)
  • You love to spend your free time writing scripts to save even as little as 5 minutes, as you know that in the long run it will pay off (we use ruby, bash and go)
  • You have an understanding of OS and Kernel fundamentals and have even dabbled in kernel modules previously
  • If you can’t understand a problem from parsing the logs that you centralized, you turn to strace and source code
  • You are at home in the cloud as much as you are in the data-centre. (We use AWS, VMWare and physical hosts)
  • VLANs, WANs, LANs, WAFs all mean something to you, and you have familiarity with them (we use Cisco and F5)
  • You know why backups are important and understand why replication or RAID is not a backup (we use Commvault)

  • Open mindset, curious, keen to learn and teach
  • Customer focused at all times, with a strong sense of ethics
  • A motivated and energetic disposition
