OpenStack Deployment Engineer

Mission description

What would you do?:

As a passionate and talented Open Source Engineer, you will take part in the Cloud revolution. Within one of our R&D teams, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the deployment of cloud infrastructures in our clients' environment. As an OpenStack Deployment Engineer, your main responsibilities will include: * Industrializing Cloud servers infrastructure related processes and automatizing integration and continuous deployment systems * Scripting virtual machines' configuration, deployment, versioning, and updates * Managing the scalability of servers (failover, load balancing, etc.), applications, and databases * Ensuring the upgrading and the global coherence of implemented infrastructures (systems and services) * Automatizing application deployments, roll-backs, configurations, monitoring, backups, etc. * Analyzing and solving implemented Cloud infrastructures' performance and scalability related anomalies * Writing up documentation and training administrators for the maintenance in operational conditions * Contributing to OpenStack and other Open Source projects * Communicating effectively in a distributed and multicultural organization

Depending on the different project phases, you will be able to work from home, our offices, or the client's location.


Degrees are not as important as being a real passionate and having the following competences:

  • Solid GNU/Linux Operating System administration skills
  • Experience in large scale server architectures
  • Strong knowledge of Automation Systems: Puppet or Chef
  • Good knowledge of deployment tools: PXE, Razor, Cobbler, etc.
  • Good knowledge in Data Base Systems: MySQL, Galera
  • Experience with Git version Control

What will make the difference?

  • A passion for Web infrastructures, Cloud Computing and Open Source projects, and some concrete contribution to the community in general and OpenStack in particular is a big plus
  • Good knowledge of Debian or Red Hat packaging
  • Some experience in Python or Ruby scripting
  • Good knowledge in Storage (Ceph), Networking (SDN) or Virtualization (KVM / libvirt)
  • Experience with DevOps practice and Agile methods
  • Some Knowledge of Jenkins would be amazing!
