About Sensu
Sensu enables high-velocity organizations to maintain operational visibility, while supporting software and infrastructure-as-code development best practices, and solving the unique challenges of monitoring in dynamic operating environments (e.g. public/private/hybrid cloud computing environments, container-based environments, and more).
The Role
Sensu is looking for a new member of our team to help shape the future of monitoring. You’ll join an existing team of engineers working on the next generation of the Sensu monitoring framework.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the product development process by leveraging previous experience with monitoring and observability platforms to influence feature planning
- Collaborate with other engineers to implement complex features in a distributed system that is deployed on many platforms that must scale to support 10,000+ concurrent connections
- Build software that carefully considers user experience since its operational conditions and lifecycle are entirely outside of Sensu’s control
- Adhere to the Sensu Code of Conduct
About You
Our ideal candidate will meet most of the following qualifications. Please don't disqualify yourself if you feel you are missing one or two (or three even?) of these requirements – you probably have other skills or experience that we didn't think to document here that may be just as valuable!
- Fluency in at least one programming language, previous experience in Go is preferred
- Interest in monitoring and observability, and experience building tools for other engineers
- Understanding of distributed systems concepts like consensus protocols or problems created by concurrency
- Thoughtful, transparent, and humane approach to work

- 4-week minimum vacation policy, only used for full days off (20-days of PTO per year). Employees with unused vacation at the end of the year will have their access to company resources disabled until the new year(e.g. email, Slack, GitHub, etc), corresponding to their balance of unused PTO! If you manage to exhaust your PTO, additional PTO will be granted barring measurable impacts to documented company objectives.
