Job Duties:
Develop new iOS and Android applications, and update existing applications; Build iOS and Android libraries that can be shared across applications; Take responsibility for the development and delivery of a portion or the entirety of both iOS and Android development projects including architecting, coding and unit testing specific requirements as determined by the project team; Write high quality code, ensuring excellence with unit tests when appropriate; Create internal builds of applications and submit them to the client for review; Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with Black Pixel’s quality standards; Participate in mentoring other developers; Work in an Agile-like iterative development process; Collaborate with designers, testers, project and product managers and project sponsors; and Communicate and report tasking estimation and progress regularly to a project manager through appropriate tools.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a Related degree plus 4 years experience. Employer will also accept six years experience as equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree plus four years experience.
Special Requirements:
Must have 4 years of professional iOS or Android software development experience and a demonstrated ability to deliver applications to the App Store and Android Apps to Google Play. Full proficiency with Java 6 and 7 plus professional experience developing Android Apps using Android Studio. Full proficiency with Swift and Cocoa Touch, plus a solid understanding of Objective-C. Experience with adaptable layouts, including an extensive use of Auto Layout in both code and Interface builder. Experience with multiple Apple frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, Core Graphics, Core Text, Core Audio and Spritekit. Solid understanding of memory management in a garbage collected environment. Experience with Dependency injection libraries including Dagger 1, Google Guice and Dagger 2. Experience with REST APIs, Apache Libraries and Volley/Retrofit frameworks. Experience with UI Widgets including Android Views and Butterknife. Experience with image loading libraries including Android Bitmaps and Picasso. Experience with networking libraries and Frameworks including Apache HTTP Libraries and OKHttp. Experience with Gradle Build System.
Remote employment/telecommuting permitted. Employee must be able to work during North American Pacific time zone business hours.
