Engineering Philosophy

Technology Skills

We are looking for Top Software Engineers with experience in search internals and building complex search systems. This person is an expert in search internals from technologies such as Lucene, Solr, FAST, Autonomy, Endeca and Elasticsearch. At Elasticsearch, you’ll have the opportunity to work in a vibrant, young company next to some of the smartest and most highly skilled technologists the industry has to offer.


  • Write great code, innovate, lead and contribute to technical search architecture of Elasticsearch.
  • Collaborate with other development teams, quality engineering team, and documentation team to execute on product deliverables.
  • Occasionally provide training at various Elasticsearch Training Events.

The successful candidate should as a minimum have:

  • BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related engineering discipline and 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Strong Search internal programming skills using some of the following: Lucene, Solr, Autonomy, Endeca , Elasticsearch, FAST. Elasticsearch experience a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a team player with strong analytical, problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills.
