Description

The Mozilla Corporation is looking for an Engineering Project Manager to help manage Firefox releases. Come join the team that shepherds fixes and features from developers to hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Be an integral part of the team that approves and denies fixes for Firefox releases
  • Define release schedules when there are competing goals and priorities
  • Communicate status and project details externally to the Mozilla community
  • Coordinate with the security team, customer support, marketing, engineering teams for content submissions, the localization team for international translations, and QA teams for testing and update verification
  • Manage, develop, and extend tools to help manage releases
  • Recognize and implement process improvements to support shipping quality releases in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge
  • 2-4 years experience delivering software at scale
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of web standards (HTML, CSS, JS)
  • Ability to build consensus when there are conflicting opinions and no clear answer
  • Ability to take ill-defined requirements or projects and distill them into actionable items
  • Ability to work with a geographically distributed team

Nice to have:

  • Participating and contributing to Open Source projects
  • Familiar with systems such as Bugzilla, Trac, Jira, GitHub
  • Python and Django experience
  • Knowledge of Mercurial and/or Git
