Software Development

Hello, we're looking for a full-time junior (or mid level) Ruby developer to join our team.

As a junior developer we don’t expect you to know all the answers, but we do need someone who knows where to find the answers and is self motivated. You should be keen to constantly improve your knowledge and skills and apply your learnings in your day to day work.

You’ll be joining a well funded company in it’s early stages so you’ll have a real say in how the product develops and evolves over time. You’ll be working directly with the CTO for YourTradeBase: a cloud platform that helps trade businesses grow and manage their paperwork more easily.

Enthusiasm, organisation, clear writing, honest communication and a love to collaborate are essential. We're looking for someone who enjoys working remotely (and the benefits it brings), so managing your own time and being UK-based is a must.

You'll be responsible for helping us: conceive and build new features, maintain a fully-tested code base, pitch in with ideas and deploy code to our staging and production environments. Our users value the ease of use and time saving our product provides so we build features with maximum usability in mind at every step.

In return for your time, energy and passion, we'll give you a fun, human, and professional environment for you to grow within, a Macbook Pro to work from, and time to develop. There's a salary of 25k and plenty of scope to grow with our success.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong experience and a passion for working with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
  • A belief in behaviour driven development
  • A good understanding of the latest front end technologies and techniques
  • A creative streak (we’ll ask you to fill in some blanks)
  • Great at communicating (we're a close team)
  • Someone who's based in the UK

Bonus points for:

  • Crafting great user experiences gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside
  • Maintaining open source projects or contributing to existing projects
  • RubyMotion, swift or Objective-C experience
  • Experience of automated server deployment (ansible, chef, puppet)
  • A good sense of humour

We have an expanding customer base of thousands, tons of potential, a round of investment and lots of great ideas to realise... We're looking for someone to help us develop our product and grow with us.

Sound like you?

If you think you could bring something to our cloud-based party, we'd love to hear from you.
