Description

LAUNCH is looking for a Developer in Residence. Daily work will include improving the LAUNCH Ticker, managing the hosting infrastructure, and advising startups on their technical needs. We want a developer who can build small experiences that make LAUNCH events, This Week in Startups, and the LAUNCH Ticker really awesome.

We are looking for a motivated and talented individual to work with us either on-site in San Francisco, CA or remote - your choice! This position will also require 2-3 weeks of travel per year if you aren’t already in the Bay area. This is a permanent position so we are currently not interested in freelancers, agencies, or recruiters.

The successful candidate will have Senior or Architect level experience in web application development (full stack) and hosting. Additionally, a strong background in working for/with startups is required.

The ideal developer would have experience with most of the following:

  • 5+ years experience with a modern languages
  • Experience with frameworks such as Rails, Django, or Node
  • Git & Github
  • Javascript & MVC front end frameworks
  • CSS frameworks such as Foundation by Zurb or Twitter Bootstrap
  • Databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB
  • Test driven development
  • Cross browser compatibility
  • Responsive design implementation
