Position: Back end Developer

Department: Project Services

Reports To: Application Platform

Location: Washington, DC (Headquarters), can be remote

Overview: This position will have the opportunity to work directly with clients on a diverse set of projects, including the development and support of CMS-driven websites, modules and extensions, user interface components, and custom Rich Internet Applications.

Primary Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Development, implementation and support of CMS solutions
  • Works directly with clients to select and implement appropriate technologies
  • Review and provide input on requirements for multiple projects and clients
  • Design system architecture and associated documentation
  • Build, Manage, and support websites


  • 3-5 years of progressive experience
  • Strong programming experience, with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Experience designing/working with data models, specifically matching one data model/hierarchy to another.
  • Expertise in the following technologies: PHP; MySQL; .NET; C#
  • Experience with CMS and blog platforms, such as Drupal or WordPress.
  • Experience with Azure and AWS a plus.
  • Ability to work with a QA group to test, debug, deploy applications in development and production-class environments.
  • Versed in website and network security principles and best practices.
