Customer.io is looking for an experienced Engineer to help scale our service in order to stay ahead of our growth. You'll be joining our team of 11. We're a geo-distributed company, working across 5 different timezones.

Customer.io is an email marketing platform for web and mobile apps. Our customers include DigitalOcean, Travis CI, Olark, and over 580 others.
We're building a distributed company. We started in NYC and moved the headquarters to Portland, Oregon. The engineering team you'll be joining is fully distributed. No two people are in the same location.
You’ll work with John, our CTO and Stephen, another Senior Scaling Engineer to scale our infrastructure 100x from where we are today. We’ve already built a service oriented architecture and it’s now time to ensure each piece is able to scale horizontally in a reliable fashion.

We’re currently dealing with > 5 TB of event data stored in Riak and ESDB (our custom event storage system) as well 250 GB of customer data (and growing fast). Over 580 companies are currently relying on customer.io and we want the service to become more reliable for every customer as we continue to grow.
