We're looking for a junior-level Ruby and Rails developer who's comfortable doing a little bit of everything, from front-end JavaScript and SASS to back-end Ruby (both inside and out of Rails), web scraping, and more.

We are an ORM (Online Reputation Management) company. We help our clients monitor what is being said about their business online and help beat out the competition by generating positive online reviews for their business (reviews generated and posted by their clients).

Our current Rails stack looks like this:

  • Rails 4.0.x
  • Ruby 2.1.x
  • Postgres
  • CoffeeScript
  • SASS
  • Slim
  • And more (Kaminari, Devise, Rspec, Cucumber, etc.)

And we use the following services:

  • Heroku
  • S3
  • GitHub
  • New Relic
  • Slack
  • Trello
  • Mandrill

The ideal candidate for this position would have experience working with established, medium- to large-sized codebases. You should feel comfortable hunting down bugs, refactoring old code, writing tests when you spot something that's lacking coverage, and occasionally implementing new features. Also, a general familiarity with working with external APIs, fetching data, and parsing CSVs would also be really helpful, as would a solid understanding of Git. We're a very small team, so you'll need to be a good communicator, as we work very closely and very quickly. And like most Rubyists, you should have a love of well-written, well-tested, and performant code. WebPunch is still young, so there's a big opportunity here to help steer the direction of the code and the product as it grows. If you think you're up to the challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
