System Administration

2015-02-13 14:57

We're doing something new at Simple and we can't do it without a different kind of operations engineer. You enjoy the challenge of working with complex systems and the art of working with people. Even in a chaotic environment, you're able to tackle tough technical problems. You're as passionate about your work as you are about what you do when your work is done. You know your tools and can explain why you chose them. Our current technology stack includes, but is not limited to:

Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, CloudFormation, Elasticache, Redshift) Ruby, Python, Go, Clojure PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Logstash, Sensu, Graphite

You'll develop tools to automate and monitor our infrastructure. With the rest of our engineering team, you'll join our oncall rotation and have the opportunity to work across our mobile, web, and backend applications. When things go right, you'll play a crucial role in the rapid development and deployment of features that will give our customers new insight into and control over their financial lives. And when things go wrong, you'll help us recover and build even safer services.

Our team is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. We participate in the open source community, publish blog posts about our work, and help shape Simple as a company and as a product. We work together to develop technical skill, but most of all we're looking for people who want to help build and maintain a safe, happy, and collaborative environment.

Simple supports its engineers with competitive salaries, great benefits, opportunity for a bonus, subsidized conference travel, and whatever hardware you need to get the job done. Our team lives on IRC and GitHub, so we're ready to work with you wherever you live.

Get in touch. Send your resume and a cover letter telling us how you can help reinvent banking. We'd also like to see a sample of your technical writing (e.g., posts on your own or a company blog), code (e.g., open source contributions on Github) or other work you're proud of.
